Over the weekend, James and I spent some time getting the rear engine/transaxle mount replaced on the green Sera, which we call Sera II, since it was the second one purchased. This mount is just above the exhaust pipe, so it dries out pretty quickly. The failed mount creates a serious engine reverberation in the cabin that makes your head feel like it's about to explode, since the interior is basically one big glass dome. It also puts strain on the other mounts, so replacing it is always a good thing. The replacement mount is cheap - we purchased a Westar EM8169, and it was a direct replacement with no modifications needed. We already did the replacement on Sera I, so this was our second go at it. It's a fairly straightforward install, and both cars now hum along nicely. Like what you just read? Click the button below to see related posts: Comments are closed.
